Hullo all! there's been an intermediate cut in my blog, but here we go again. We begin our new unit in pantamiming. Sooo far we've practiced poses and taken some notes on it and read some parts of a book explaining it. We also learned how to act onstage in a way that benefits the audience's eyes:profile, cheating it out, etc. We've also done a few group performances and games, including "Simon Says", Telephone, and a performance on a sport (we did skiing, but never "aired" it). It was all a good experience on keeping calm and focused, how to stay a good actor on stage, and how to memorize (I learned it the hard way through failing a few telephone parts).
So After our discussions and Mrs. Weil's ramblings on masters of the stage, I decided to experience them for myself. Luckily I had YouTube by my side, and went to upload a few videos of the fat guy in beverly hills ninja. I admit he is quite athletic for his size, but I hate...crude humor like that. It's too bland for me. So I checked out Charlie Chaplin, and boy! He was the man! His movements, his way of telling things visually all captured my attention. It seems like a dying art. Not that I know much about miming and the like, but I haven't ever even seen movements like that.
